After unfortunately missing the GBA release from Origami Angel (which was INCREDIBLY expensive anyways, my bank account dodged a bullet... for now.), the vinyl release for Gami's Re:turn and DEPART EPs was a real treat! And thankfully, I could buy it on their UK store too! The press I bought looks awesome too, I almost ordered the wrong one but the people over at Devil Dog Distro swapped the press for me. Absolute heroes!
Admittedly, I still haven't listened to Re:turn. I know, I'm a fake Gami fan, smh. But DEPART is such a great EP! Almost five whole minutes of hardcore Gami, with suitably shouty vocals to boot, I can really shut off my mind and vibe to this great EP! Presumably, with DEPART being, well, a departure from there usual stuff, Re:turn will probably be a return to their earlier stuff. I've seen it compared to Quiet Hours, which if that's the case I'm excited to hear it! But I'll leave the listening 'til I get the vinyl.
Whilst I'm on the topic of recent Counter Intuitive Records purchases, they released their 2024 merchline based off of their artists' releases! Instead of their usual Gildan shirts, this line is apparently made using Comfort Colours shirts, which I've only heard good things about. Lets just hope they're as comfy as their name suggests... The artists I've selected from are Origami Angel, Jophus, Combat and Riley!
